Adventure Trail

Wellies Essential!!

Manley Mere Adventure Trail meanders through woodland, alongside a stream with obstacles and challenges on the way…it’s a great way of having fun and spending quality time with friends and family.

Please note the Manley Mere Trail will be closed every Tuesday and Wednesday from the 5th November and from the 2nd December will be closed everyday and will reopen on the 15th February 2020

All equipment is self-propelled and cleverly fits into the surroundings. It is a country walk as well as an adventure so there is always an easy way around – just walk past! Wherever possible obstacles are made from recycled material and re-used agricultural equipment – see if you can guess what things were in a previous life!

Great fun for all the family

The trail is about 1½ miles long and tickets are valid until the centre closes. There is no set route – discovering hidden things is part of the fun! There are changing rooms (a change of clothes is advised!) and a cold water hose to get any mud off hands and face before getting into your car, or going into the Chameleon Bar and Restaurant!

You are welcome to bring a picnic, however, picnics are not allowed in the restaurant, outside restaurant area or the school room (consider the weather!). There is an undercover area and there are picnic tables available to use. Please note BBQS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON SITE.

Our Chameleon shack is based at the entrance to the adventure trail in the summer months you can purchase your tickets from there along with Kelly’s ice creams, hot & cold drinks and snacks.

  • The trail is suitable for all ages, the trail is pram friendly
  • Dogs are welcome – please keep them on a lead and clear up after them.

On the trail you will see oak, ash, lime, horse chestnut, maple, willow and alder trees. In spring look out for the wild garlic flowering along the banks of the stream – you’ll probably smell it before you see it!! There is lots to learn about nature while having fun on the trail. Birdlife is in abundance with a large variety of water birds, wild geese and ducks as well as woodland birds.

You may also spot a rabbit, and if you’re quiet… a fox or even a badger!

School Groups

Many of the activities on the adventure trail require propulsion from an energetic friend – as a result it’s great for team building and laughs are guaranteed. Figure out the working and design of apparatus, builds awareness of risks and hazards and encourages personal decision-making. Why not make a day of it and combine the adventure trail with a water activity. For further information and prices on all activities at Manley Mere and availability please contact us on
