Single sit on top kayak is perfect for all participants we have 2 styles of boat to choose from the RTM mambo and the RTM mojito. The mambo has an inbuilt running keel so are a lot easier to paddle in a straight line and has a larger weight capacity so is often given adult paddlerS. The RTM mojito on the other hand has a flat hull so is very manoverable and so slightly harder to paddle in a straight line.
Both kayaks are open top so if you capsize the craft you will not be trapped and its possible to flip the craft and climb back in.
Double the fun on our duo kayaks these are longer that our single kayaks and are capable of having two paddlers. These craft are open top so there is not issue if you capsize in them.
Team work is crucial when using the duo kayak as you need to work together to paddle it around on the lake.
Stand up paddle boarding is a great way of getting onto the water and seeing the lake from a new perspective.
The lake is ideal for beginners as it doesn’t have any large waves making it easier to stay on your feet. SUP boarding is relatively easy to pick up as the boards have fins underneath that aid in keeping you in a straight line and once you have got used to the board you will soon be paddling around the lake at your leisure.
however we would suggest that you be prepared to get wet as falling in has a high chance of occurring but getting back on isn’t difficult.
Capacity: 3 (must have 1 adult on board)
If you are looking to get on the water with more in your group the canoes are a great alternative.
These larger craft can hold up to 3 people and their large profile make them stable. These boats are moved using single paddle blades so its important to work together as a team.
These craft are designed to keep you as dry as possible when on the water but if you are wanting to get wet and jump in these craft are not ideal as they will fill up and can capsize.
Price: £80 (£10 per person)
Bigger is always better this XL SUP is a great way of having fun with friends. This giant sup has capacity for 8 people and required everyone to work together.
Much more stable than a single SUP you will still find yourself falling in and have great fun it makes a great platform for jumping in and its guaranteed to bring a smile on everyones face.
Split the cost with your friends or family and have a great time out on the water.
