This course is an introduction to boat handling and safety in powerboats. The skills learnt are to be used only under supervision of a responsible experience adult

RYA  Powerboat level: This course introduces provides a practical introduction to boat handling skills and safety awareness

Key learning points:  launching, recovery, steering controls, securing to a bouy, leaving and coming alongside and use of a kill cord

The Next Steps: To progress in power boating it useful to find a nearby Junior power boating club to help progress your skills. The next power boating course that is available is the Powerboat level 2 course but participants are required to be 12yr+ and won’t be allowed to drive on their own until they are 16yrs.
