A polite reminder to everyone visiting Manley Mere
Following recent tragic incidents involving young people entering open water, we want to remind everyone that safety at Manley Mere must come first.
Manley Mere is private land and we are not a place where children can be dropped off unsupervised. Children and young people must only be onsite if they have a booked activity, and a responsible adult must remain onsite with them at all times.
Open water can be extremely dangerous. Cold water shock can happen very quickly, even to strong swimmers, and the risks are very real. For this reason, all lake users must have a valid booking, wear the correct buoyancy aid, and follow our safety rules at all times.
Please also remember that swimming is only permitted during designated open water swim sessions. There is strictly no unauthorised swimming in the lake.
We love welcoming families, groups, schools and visitors to enjoy Manley Mere, but we will not tolerate trespassing, abusive behaviour towards staff, or anyone ignoring safety rules. These rules are in place to protect lives, not to spoil anyone’s fun.
Thank you to all our visitors who continue to support us, respect our team, and help keep Manley Mere a safe and enjoyable place for everyone. 💙
Please note that our Cafe will be closed on Monday 1st June and Cafe and Lake will be closed on Wednesday the 3rd June, although the Trail will remain open that day.
Friday 10th July the site will be closed to the general public for a private event.
