Things To Know Before You Go!

Please read the following carefully before setting off:

·   Wear long trousers – the course is set in wood and grassland, there are stinging/scratchy plants growing eg: nettles, thistles, brambles – take care. Please also beware of water hazards/fencing & do not litter.

·   This is a fun, orienteering based activity, it is not an official course. It will help develop map reading, compass reading and team work skills. It also gets you outside and helps keep fit!

·   Allow 10mins to get to and from the start ‘S’ (yellow, orange, green courses & treasure hunt). If you have chosen the red course, start at point number 10 – allow 15mins to get to and from this point. Allow approximately 2hrs for the activity overall plus about 1/2hr for lunch.

·   Except where specified, the courses are designed for adults (17+) orienteering together with children.

·   As this is a natural environment the ground is uneven in many areas – take care & don’t run on uneven ground. Areas marked on the map legend as ‘forest – fight’ mean dense undergrowth (brambles, nettles).
