Open Water Swimming 2012

Weekly swim sessions will start on Tuesday May 1st 2012. 

EVERYONE WELCOME!
Sessions are open to the public, so you do not have to belong to a club to join in.
You may swim for up to an hour anytime between 6 - 8pm, every Tuesday.

We will have safety cover on the water and in addition, we will have a qualified swim instructor on site (when available) to give those of you who would appreciate it, a little assistance.
The Chameleon bar and restaurant will be open for refreshments.

Participants £5pp - No parking charges apply for swimmers.

Information

We ask everyone to fill out a registration form. This only needs to be completed once, before your first swim of the season.

All swimmers must sign IN AND OUT OF THE WATER on each session.
You will be provided with a band, which must be worn on your ankle or wrist.

Every child under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult in the water and are limited to the 250m and 500m courses. No children under the age of 14 are permitted.

For those of you that have had no or little open water swimming experience, we ask that you stick to the 250m and 500m courses and swim with a buddy.

Swimming time is limited to 1 hour per swimmer.

The changing rooms and toilets will be open for use.

We ask that all participants wear a wetsuit, swim cap and goggles.

Swimmers must be healthy and have no known medical conditions and be fit and well enough to undertake open water swimming.

Safety is paramount therefore every swimmer must sign a declaration agreeing to obey the rules and regulations.

Swim rules

All swimmers must enter and exit the water within the designated areas (unless in an emergency)

Strictly no diving or jumping into the water.

Swim in a clockwise direction and please stick to the courses marked out.

Raise your arm for attention. If you can not get to shore, roll onto your back and raise your arm and wait for help.

Always remove your wetsuit before entering the restaurant area.
