The trail is about 1 1/2 miles long and tickets are valid until 6pm, when the centre closes. There is no set route - discovering hidden things is part of the fun! There are changing rooms (a change of clothes is advised!) and a cold water hose to get any mud off hands & face before getting into your car, or going into the Chameleon Bar & Restaurant!
You are welcome to bring a picnic, however, picnics are not allowed in the restaurant, outside restaurant area or the school room (consider the weather!). There are picnic tables available to use.
- The trail is suitable for children of all ages - from 1 to 100 year olds.
- Dogs are welcome - please keep them on a lead & clear up after them.
- Age 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- Trail entrance costs £8.00 per person per day. Please pay at the shop before you start.
- Parking is £2.00 per day (machine takes coins)
- Under 5's are free.
On the trail you will see oak, ash, lime, horse chestnut, maple, willow and alder trees. In spring look out for the wild garlic flowering along the banks of the stream - you'll probably smell it before you see it!! There is lots to learn about nature while having fun on the trail. Birdlife is in abundance with a large variety of water birds, wild geese and ducks as well as woodland birds.
You may also spot a rabbit, and if you're quiet... a fox or even a badger!
